Program Overview
The SCL offers: * Skills development in inquiry-based teaching and learning methods, fostering peer learning and support, and a life-long curiosity and interest in the sciences. * Learning experiences that help build workforce competencies and professional skills, preparing Explainers for a globally competitive workforce. * Leadership development through opportunities to help reshape the SCL’s content and structure.
The program treats the diversity and broad cultural experiences of the Explainers as an asset that makes science accessible, engaging and interactive to all types of learners from all types of backgrounds. In this way, the SCL affects not only the Explainers, but the other young people they interact with as teachers, peers, neighbors, and role models.
